GOODS RETURN POLICY AND PROCEDURE

Document Number: SSPOLLR11
Effective Date: 16/02/2026
Review Date: 15/02/2027

  1. PURPOSE

This policy establishes the procedures and conditions governing the return of goods supplied by Sheq Safety CC, ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance with applicable South African legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

  1. APPLICATION

This policy applies to all customers returning goods supplied by Sheq Safety CC, including claims relating to shortages, incorrect supply, damaged goods, or defective products.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights afforded to customers under the Consumer Protection Act where applicable.

  1. DELIVERY VERIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Customers must inspect all deliveries immediately upon receipt.

  • All parcels must be checked within 2 working days of delivery.
  • Any visible damage, tampering, shortages, or incorrect items must be recorded on the delivery documentation at the time of receipt where possible.
  • Photographs of damaged or tampered parcels must be taken before opening where feasible.
  • All shortages or discrepancies must be reported to returns@sheqsafety.co.za within 2 working days.

Failure to report shortages within this period may result in claims being declined where verification is no longer reasonably possible.

  1. RETURNS AUTHORISATION PROCEDURE
  • All returns must be requested by completing a Goods Return Request Form.
  • Upon preliminary review, Sheq Safety CC will issue a Return Authorisation Number (RAN) if the return is accepted for investigation.
  • Issuing a RAN does not constitute approval of credit; it authorises return for inspection only.
  • Returned goods must be clearly marked with the RAN number and returned within 7 working days of authorisation unless otherwise agreed.

Returns submitted without a valid RAN may be refused.

  1. RETURN CONDITIONS

Goods returned for non-defective reasons must:

  • Be in original, unused condition
  • Be in original packaging where reasonably possible
  • Match the quantities originally supplied
  • Include all supporting documentation

Sheq Safety CC reserves the right to reject returns that do not meet these conditions, except where goods are defective as defined under applicable law.

  1. DEFECTIVE GOODS (CPA COMPLIANCE)

Where goods are defective, unsafe, or not fit for their intended purpose, customers may exercise their rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including return within six (6) months of delivery for repair, replacement, or refund where applicable.

Assessment may require manufacturer inspection, which may extend processing time.

  1. CREDIT PROCESSING
  • Credits will only be processed after returned goods have been inspected and approved.
  • Approved credits will normally be processed within 10 working days after final approval.
  • Where manufacturer assessment is required, additional processing time may apply.
  1. NON-COMPLIANCE WITH PROCEDURE

Failure to follow the required return procedures, including failure to obtain a RAN number or failure to provide required supporting documentation, may delay processing or result in the claim being declined where investigation is no longer reasonably possible.
